SPECIAL EVENTS - 2026
Saturday, June 13: Season Kickoff
Paris Beer Co. at Wincey Mills in Paris
Group rides open to non-members, and the launch of Paris Beer Co’s non-alcoholic beer, which is probably good for an event that starts at 10am.
July 10, 2026: Hammer Ride
An 80km gravel adventure ride (at a social pace) through the Hamilton area. Multiple stops for rest and food. No actual hammers. (Please don’t bring a hammer.)
August 14 2026, 8:30am: Grand Speed Adventure (Strava Event Link) (Route Link)
Join us for a scenic ride along the Grand and Speed Rivers through Cambridge and Kitchener, connecting some of the region's best trails and gravel roads. This year's route will run clockwise (the reverse of previous years), allowing for an earlier first café stop. Most of the route remains the same as last year's ride - just ridden in the opposite direction.
Don't be fooled by the absence of an escarpment climb—this route packs in more elevation than the Hammer Adventure thanks to its endless rolling terrain. There are no major climbs, but the hills keep coming.
A modern gravel bike and group-riding experience are required. The expected average speed is 25–27 km/h. This is a no-drop ride, and we will regroup as needed to keep everyone together.
Planned Stops
• 29 km – Café O
• 59 km – Hespeler (location TBD)
September 29, 2026, 8:00am: Niagara Adventure (Strava Event Link) (Route Link)
The annual BCC Niagara Ride, but its a Century this time because it was so good last year we decided to make it longer.
Starting at Charles Ansell Park in St Catharines, going through Niagara-on-the-lake, Niagara Falls, Fort Erie, Port Colborne, Welland, Pelham and Port Dalhousie, before doing a loop around St Kitts and finishing back at the park.
Aiming for an average speed of about 25-28 kph but this is a fun club ride first and foremost.
There is one big climb up Queenston about 25km in and the a smaller climb at Effingham at about 120km.
This is a no drop ride, we will regroup quite regularly.
Along the friendship trail we will employ a similar "lead out" tactic as last year to keep moving smoothly (lead rider off the front to wave the group through crossings).
Please Bring:
- Road bike in good working order
- Helmet
- Appropriate spares for your bike
- Sufficient Water and Snacks to go about 40K between stops
- Bell and lights are recommended
Stops at:
43km - Tim Hortons
73km - Bathroom at Waverly Beach
75km - Convenience Store for Water/Restock (if stopping for lunch we will probably skip this one)
83km - 335 on the ridge for lunch - Reservation for 12:30
120km - Convenience Store for Water/Restock
